If you’re nervous about how they will interact with you, I think give it a (tentative) shot anyways. You hope they don’t judge you for being non-binary or trans (something you can’t control) and I ask of you not to judge them for their skin color or sexual orientation (something they can’t control). Everyone I’ve ever met in the d&d community has been hyped for new players, someone to share their hobby with. Most d&d players are incredibly welcoming, even if they’re dudes. I have seen some people say they can’t play d&d at college, or at a card shop because of these straight white males, because you don’t want to play with them.
